ST. VINCENT dePAUL

St. Vincent dePaul

"Come. You have my Father's blessing! Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the World. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you comforted me." Matthew 25-34:36

Do you or someone you know need assistance? Contact the St. Vincent de Paul Society at 732-946-4487 Extension 240 - All calls are confidential.

History

The St. Vincent de Paul society was founded in Paris, France, in 1833, by Frederic Ozanam and six companions who personally provided assistance to the poor and suffering through their home visits. They chose as their patron the great Apostle of Charity, St. Vincent de Paul.

In America, the first conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society was established in St. Louis, Missouri in 1845. Today, there are over 4,360 conferences with 141,112 Vincentians in the United States, and over 750,000 Vincentians worldwide.

Who We Are and What We Do

St. Vincent de Paul is a national non-profit organization whose conferences are generally part of a religious community. St. Vincent de Paul Conference of Marlboro has been associated with St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church for more than 25 years and is funded entirely through the generosity of its parishioners.

Our mission is to faithfully serve the needy of our community by administering temporary emergency assistance while providing spiritual encouragement.

When we are contacted for assistance, all information shared with us is kept confidential. You will be assigned a case number and your identity is known only to the two members assigned to you. No information is shared with any individual, organization or outside agency without your permission. At the time of your home visit, we may request information such as copies of utility bills, employment status and current income and expenses in order to properly assess your needs. We may also recommend other organizations for you to contact that may be of assistance to you.

Our objectives are to listen to your concerns and concentrate our attention on your immediate problems, whether they involve food, clothing, rent or utility bills.

May God Bless You
